We Have Prepared the Way for You

The arena was packed. Over 2,000 students from 86 different countries traveled to Kraków, Poland for the REVIVE Conference with the theme “PREPARE THE WAY.” Everyone was ready for a move of God among students and young adults in Europe. As the key evangelistic partner for the event, our Steiger Europe team had the incredible opportunity to organize outreach actions in the heart of this city rich in history and home to one of Europe’s oldest universities.

The Steiger team put together installations showcasing creative evangelism projects and invited conference participants to explore what a life of radical mission could look like.

Steiger Europe Director Luke Greenwood shared as one of the main stage speakers. Students prayed desperately for a move of God to spark a revival across Europe, but they didn’t stop there. Luke invited the students to actually step out in faith and join our team in bringing the Gospel to the streets of Kraków.

Over two days, the Steiger team gathered 450 people from the conference to participate in outreach events that included live music, public worship, and boldly preaching the name of Jesus in public spaces.

On the first day, as the outreach was getting started, something remarkable happened. The police were waiting for the group, and they approached Steiger missionary Ania, the main organizer, with an unexpected message: “We have prepared the way for you.” This was a powerful and symbolic moment. As the group walked along the King’s Road, where the kings of Kraków once journeyed to the castle, the police ensured their path was clear and secure amidst the busy crowds just before the New Year.

The local police shared an unexpected message with Steiger missionary Ania.

“The symbolism of walking the King’s Road and proclaiming the name of Jesus, the King of kings, was not lost on us,” Ania recalled. “We worshipped, preached, and shared the Gospel boldly in the main square, right in front of one of the largest and oldest cathedrals in Poland!” The action both introduced unbelievers to the love and power of Jesus and ignited a spark in believers who’d never experienced faith in action.

The response was overwhelming. Hundreds stopped to listen, and 83 people from the square joined the group at the conference, where they heard the Gospel in greater depth. Many made commitments to follow Jesus during this time.

The Steiger team led hundreds of believers from the conference to evangelistic action on the streets.

“The outreach was one of the most emotional times of my life, not because I was upset but because the presence of God was so strong,” shared one of the participants in a heartfelt reflection.

At the end, a group of police officers came to Ania and said, “What you are doing and saying to those young people is so powerful. Could you please pray for us too?” She prayed for them and they were open to learning more about Jesus. All of the people present were shocked by hearing the truth in such a joyful and relevant way.

God moved in amazing ways in Kraków! The way was prepared—both literally and spiritually—and the Steiger team witnessed His Kingdom advancing in powerful ways.

Our teams shared the Gospel boldly right in front of one of the largest and oldest cathedrals in Poland.

Steiger Europe has experienced exponential growth over the past six years, going from six missionaries in three countries in 2018, to its current 40 full-time missionaries and over 300 volunteers in 23 countries, running actions in 50 cities and reaching over 40,000 young people with the Gospel every year.
