Steiger International Newsletter (September 2026)

“I think I’m open to getting to know this God.” That’s what Deborah, a self-proclaimed atheist, told our team at Pol’and’Rock this year.
For 15 years, Steiger has been present at Pol’and’Rock, one of Europe’s biggest outdoor festivals, bringing the Gospel into the heart of a culture searching for meaning and hope. The festival is marked by spiritual seeking, shamanism, and diverse mystical practices, creating countless opportunities to point people toward the truth and hope found in Jesus.

This year, 120 people from 25 countries joined our team to make an impact. Through conversations, prayer, performances, and our presence throughout the festival, they had incredible opportunities to share Jesus openly and boldly.
Deborah told our team she was an atheist. She and her roommate came to our I Am performance at the festival, a 20-minute show that uses music, drama, and storytelling to explore questions of identity, purpose, fame, depression, and faith. After the performance, our team started a conversation with her. As they spoke, she became open to the possibility that God was real and that she could actually know Him personally. They prayed with her and she decided to give her life to Jesus.

Another powerful moment came during the show, when Steiger missionary Yvonne noticed “Lena” crying throughout the entire performance. Lena and her boyfriend, “Jakub,” were initially drawn by the music, but they soon found themselves deeply identifying with the characters and themes, especially the struggle with depression. Lena had been searching for God, but felt lost. Yvonne talked to them about Jesus, prayed, and gave them a Bible. The next day, they returned to spend more time with the team and continued talking about faith and life. Yvonne is still in contact with them.

Steiger missionary Jelte shared the Gospel through his music at an open mic. He noticed “Antoni” listening closely and clearly moved by the message, so he went over to talk with him.
They talked for a long time that night, and Antoni told Jelte how grateful he was that they had met. “If this was the only thing I went to Pol’and’Rock for, then it was worth it,” Antoni shared. Jelte prayed for him, and now, every two weeks, they meet online to study the Bible together, working their way through the Gospel of John.
Antoni recently visited DOM, Steiger’s missional hub in Wrocław, Poland, where he had coffee with the team there. He continues to grow more curious and open to Jesus.

Every day brought new challenges, but our team kept finding creative ways to engage people and make Jesus known.
This year, God even opened an even bigger door as our team was invited onto the main stage, where they shared the love of God with thousands alongside Sonny, the lead singer of P.O.D., and prayed for the festival’s main organizers.

By the end of the festival, we saw God open countless doors for conversations, prayer, and Gospel proclamation. Here’s a glimpse of what God did:
- 3,442 people heard the Gospel
- 892 people received prayer
- 105 people gave their lives to Jesus
