Alisson began her journey with a distorted view of God and the church—marked by judgment, legalism, and a constant sense of not belonging. “To me, being a Christian meant always having a finger pointed at me, telling me everything I wasn’t allowed to do,” she explained.

Alena was in a dark season struggling with depression, emptiness, anxiety, even suicidal thoughts. But after their times together, she would say, “It seems there is meaning to living on this earth. There is this light of God that gives hope.”

‍“I just want to be loved,” shared Vlad, a young man Steiger missionary Pasha and his team met at the Motherland indie festival this summer. His words revealed a deep ache that so many in the global youth culture carry: the longing for real love, identity, and belonging.

Sofia’s story didn’t begin in a church or Christian home. In fact, she grew up in a non-religious family that never talked about God. But deep down, something was stirring. Many years ago, she was sitting in her room when she suddenly felt a presence, like God was there. She dropped to her knees and prayed.‍
