The Steiger Missions School transformed Lucas’ life

“God put a fire in my heart to reach these people, to go to the streets and build true relationships. When I hear their questions and their pain, I cry. I want so much to go back (to Brazil) and put all my strength and heart into this mission.”
Lucas, known to his friends as “Blue,” came to the Steiger Missions School (SMS) in Germany this year not knowing what to expect. Two years earlier, he couldn’t have imagined himself living in a missionary community, preaching in European cities, or worshiping with hundreds of young people from around the world. But God changed everything.
At the school, Lucas discovered a new depth of intimacy with God through passionate worship, moments of silence, and a community that felt like family. He experienced what it means to worship in total freedom—jumping, dancing, crying, and laughing before the One who knows us completely. In those quiet moments alone with God, Lucas began to hear His voice more clearly and understand his own identity in Christ.

“I saw God closer than ever before,” Lucas shared. “He revealed who He is, and who I am in Him.”
When the school ended, Lucas thought his journey was complete, but God wasn’t finished. David and Jodi—founders of Steiger— invited him to stay for the second session of SMS for another seven weeks of deeper learning and ministry. He was tired and homesick, but in prayer he knew this was God’s will.
“That’s when I learned the most radical lesson of my life: obey God,” he explained. “Even when I didn’t understand, even when I didn’t feel like it, even when I couldn’t see anything. And obedience turned out to be better than any plan I could’ve made.”
Lucas and several other students traveled to Poland between the schools to join the Pol’and’Rock Impact Trip, sharing Jesus at one of Europe’s biggest music festivals, a place infamous for “sex, drugs, and rock ’n’ roll.” In the middle of the chaos, they preached the Way, the Truth, and the Life, witnessing countless hearts opening to the Gospel.

Back in Dresden, they witnessed people being baptized in the park and saw lives transformed by the power of God.
This is what the Steiger Missions School is all about—raising up a generation that loves boldly, lives radically, and takes Jesus to those far from God. This year, God sent 137 students from 22 nations to the SMS in Germany, and 36 more to the SMS in Russia (held due to travel and visa challenges), to be trained and sent back to their countries with a clear sense of calling to reach their generation.

Lucas returned home with a renewed vision and fire to reach the Global Youth Culture:
“Let the truth be told! This was the most intense, most life-changing, most miraculous, and most blessed experience of my life. If you’re looking for intensity, if you’re looking for transformation, if you want to be challenged to reach those who would never step into a church, this school is for you. The world needs young people who will revolutionize everything—not with fame, not with a stage, but with love, courage, and the glory of God.”
