Meeting Jesus in a Korn Show

“Lord Jesus, thank you for seeing me as I am. Thank you because I don't have to follow a cheap copy of a religious person. I can be myself. Thank you because You are not like those hypocritical religious people, and You are about a one-on-one relationship. And I ask You to touch all these people, to reveal Yourself to them, and help them understand that You are real.”
That was the prayer that Brian “Head” Welch, guitarist and founding member of the band Korn, prayed for a group of fans before a show in Bogotá, Colombia, in May.
Brian has partnered with Steiger over the years whenever Korn plays in a city where we are present. Our teams connect with him and attend the shows to support his Gospel outreach, which also creates opportunities for Steiger to build deeper relationships with fans.
“This morning I was praying to God to allow me to find the right people, and it seems God pointed you out for tonight. And you know, it is about a one-on-one relationship with Jesus. The whole Bible, the New Testament, is about God coming to live inside of the human heart and soul, if we repent and let Him in,” shared Brian with the group.
And God really moved the hearts of the fans during the conversation with Brian. “Pablo” was deeply impacted and shared, “Brian spoke about God in a way that made sense to me. I now want to walk closely with God, let Him guide me. God brought me here, made me know Him, and is the one I want to follow all my days.”
But the impact didn’t stop with the fans. Behind the scenes, the Bogotá team also connected with members of the event staff and logistics crew. In a powerful moment, around 25–30 workers gathered as our team shared the Gospel with them, reminding them of their value in Jesus’ eyes. Many responded with openness, and several chose to pray and invite Jesus into their lives.
