What are 1,000 “burning arrows’?
Last December in Colombia, a local leader prayed over me and spoke a word I will never forget:
“Don’t be afraid of the shifts and changes that are coming… I came to inspect your fruit this year. It felt like pruning, but I clean what bears fruit so it will bear much more. Don’t be afraid to say yes to bolder, bigger visions. I am placing three new territories and 1,000 ‘burning arrows’ in your heart.”
I remember standing there, stunned. One thousand “burning arrows”? One thousand young people with a burning passion to reach their generation? It was as if God was putting language to something He had already begun stirring in me.
What made it even more striking was that just a few weeks earlier, during days of prayer with our International Leadership Team, God had led us repeatedly to Isaiah 54:2:
“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.”
Two different moments, yet the same message:
Make room. A great harvest is coming. And it will require many new young leaders willing to run into the world with the hope of Jesus.
Because the need is greater than ever. Millions of young people today reject church, shaped by a culture centered on self and secular values. That is why the vision of raising 1,000 “burning arrows” — young missional leaders with a wild, childlike faith — burns so deeply in my heart.
When you give, you make space for those burning arrows to be trained, equipped, and sent. You make it possible for them to enter cities, scenes, and subcultures that desperately need the Gospel.
You open doors for the “impossible” things God spoke about in Colombia.
To launch this next season, we are trusting God to provide $600,000 by the end of this year.
I’d love for you to follow along in the coming weeks as I share more stories, updates, and opportunities to fuel a radical missionary movement that I believe is close to God’s heart.
For this lost generation,
Aaron Pierce
