“What would you ask God for?”
“To believe in Him again.”
That was “Lukas,” standing outside a rock bar on Halloween in Simferopol, Crimea. Right there, in the chaos of the streets, Steiger missionary Kirill led him in the prayer of surrender to Jesus. Even the security guard stopped and joined in, witnessing the power of God move openly among them.
Kirill had stepped out into the city that night with a bold idea: dressed as a priest, carrying a simple box labeled “Confession.” He invited anyone willing to pray, repent, and encounter Jesus. The moment people realized he wasn’t just in a Halloween costume, lines formed in nightclubs, bars, concerts, and restaurants. They cried, hugged him, and felt like a heavy burden had been lifted off their souls.

Across the world in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, a curious group saw our team in costumes, engaged in Halloween-themed creative evangelism, and came closer. On a night full of parties and costumes of monsters and ghosts, they hadn’t expected anyone to talk about Jesus.
Vale connected with the team that night, and they invited her to their Bible study for the non-religious a few days later. During reading and fellowship, her heart began to open. Bit by bit, through tears and trust, she shared things she had never told anyone. For hours, she felt safe to be fully honest and truly seen, heard, and loved by God.
“That night started something special. Between laughter, honest conversations, and moments of reflection, Jesus began to stir their hearts,” shared Liza from the Steiger team.
In Wrocław, Poland, the team took a different approach to Halloween. Instead of going out to the streets, they built an immersive escape room called “A Journey Into the Depth of Oneself.” Every room invited young people to slow down, face their own story, and encounter the Gospel in a creative, unexpected way.
It started with a treadmill and a video full of luxury—cars, yachts, watches—ending with the question, “Where are you running to?” As participants moved through each room, they confronted temptation, lies, and the burdens they carried. In a dark room, a hidden truth came to life. With the press of a remote-control button, light revealed the words Jesus says about us: “I love you. There is a purpose to your life. You were planned from the beginning.”
Afterwards, everyone shared a meal, a space for honest conversations and clear Gospel proclamation. Young people stayed to talk and opened up about how deeply the experience had impacted them.
“Lena,” a young woman who used to attend the Bible study for the non-religious, was touched by God in a deep way. After going through the escape room, she wept and said, “It felt like a clear confirmation that God loves me and knows how to bring me back to Himself.”

Down in Brazil, Steiger missionaries Lucas and Moah teamed up to host a Halloween party outreach in São Paulo, creating a space where young people far from faith could encounter Jesus through music, conversation, and relationships.
Moah played with his band Lumière and shared songs with a message of hope, touching hearts across a diverse crowd, including those struggling with drugs, alcohol, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. By the end of the night, over 50 young people heard the clear message of the Gospel.
“It was a moment of welcoming, of opening our hearts to people who wouldn’t walk into a church, but were there, open to deep, spiritual conversations, ready to hear about Jesus. It was really worth it,” shared Lucas.

Under the cover of darkness, our Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine team hit the streets for an evangelism outreach—part of the project they call “Paradise for Demons.” Their painted faces attracted a crowd, and three team members even went into a bar, sharing the Gospel with youth celebrating among smoke and noise. By the end of the night, 111 people had heard the message of Jesus.

These stories are just a glimpse of what God did during the Halloween season. Our teams around the world took to the streets, bringing the light of the Gospel into the darkness, and over 9,000 people were reached with the hope of Jesus.
