An escape room that leads to Jesus

Our team shared the Gospel, guiding young people to encounter Jesus in a meaningful and personal way.

“It felt like a clear confirmation that God loves me and knows how to bring me back to Himself.”

That’s how “Lena,” a young woman from Wrocław who used to attend the team’s Bible study for the non-religious, described her experience after walking through Steiger’s Halloween escape room, “A Journey Into the Depth of Oneself.” Touched by God in a deep and unexpected way, she wept as she shared how personally the message had reached her.

Instead of going out to the streets, the Wrocław team created an immersive space where participants could slow down, face their own story, and encounter the Gospel in a creative, surprising way. It started with a treadmill and a video full of luxury—cars, yachts, watches—ending with the question, “Where are you running to?” As participants moved through each room, they confronted temptation, lies, and the burdens they carried.

At the foot of the Cross, participants laid down their burdens, writing and nailing their pains onto it.

In a dark room, a hidden truth came to life. With the press of a remote-control button, light revealed the words Jesus speaks about us: “I love you. There is a purpose to your life. You were planned from the beginning.” Then participants took a key, unlocked a padlock, and entered the next room, where they could finally lay down their burdens at the foot of the cross. They wrote down their pain—wounds they’d received or caused—and nailed those notes to the cross.

Sharing a meal, stories, and God’s love—hearts opened and conversations flowed.

Afterwards, everyone shared a meal, a space for honest conversations and clear Gospel proclamation. Young people stayed to talk and opened up about how deeply the experience had impacted them.

Diana, a friend of the team, also had a deeply moving experience inside the escape room. She said that if she could, she would have stayed longer in the part with the cross. She and her boyfriend stayed with the team until the very end, even while they were already cleaning up. It was clear they felt comfortable and wanted to talk about deeper things.

After this, she attended the Bible study, and the team started reading the Bible with her. Diana then started attending a local church every Sunday and joining a small group. In December, during a church service, Diana gave her life to Jesus.

At the end of this outreach, 25 people heard the clear message of the Gospel, each one encountering the love of Jesus in a personal and unexpected way.
