What is a Steiger City Team?

A Steiger City Team is a dynamic, bold and multi-gifted missionary team that specializes in reaching the Global Youth Culture of their city. As true frontline specialists, Steiger City Teams are a key force for multiplying the Steiger movement throughout their region.

So how does a Steiger City Team do this?

1. We develop a culture of “seeking God”

We recognize that all moves of God start with extraordinary prayer leading to repentance, humility and Holy Spirit-fueled action. With that in mind, we gather people from different churches and together ask that He would move powerfully in our city.

2. We establish a regular, relational presence in the secular scene

We develop authentic relationships with young people who would not walk into a church by being present in their places. We go to bars and clubs, attend concerts, galleries, movie screenings, rallies, and protests. We push beyond the surface to connect with people deeply so that we understand them; their doubts, fears, dreams and desires.

3. We engage in regular creative evangelism of all kinds

We go to where the Global Youth Culture gathers and use art, dance, music, graffiti, theater, or other creative tools that spark gospel conversations leading to long-term discipleship relationships.

4. We host large-scale, evangelistic events

We host evangelistic concerts, online campaigns, interactive art exhibits, strategic impact trips and more. In a world that is bombarded with lies, we believe in the clear and relevant proclamation of the Gospel from the rooftops!

5. We create spaces that foster discipleship relationships that act as a bridge to the local church

We look for opportunities to connect personally with those who experience Jesus and are interested in the message. Whether it’s “Bible studies for the non-religious,” community houses or other strategies, our teams are seeking to purposefully create and nurture environments that encourage genuine community, where new people feel welcome, grow in their walk with Jesus and can be connected to a local church.

6. We equip local churches to reach the Global Youth Culture
We offer online and in-person training seminars, workshops and conferences. We teach relevant biblical values, principles, and models for sharing Jesus and making disciples among the Global Youth Culture.
