Welcome to our dedicated space for families navigating the journey with loved ones who have walked away from the Lord.

At Steiger, our mission is driven by a deep passion for reaching young people who would never set foot in a church. Many of these individuals, once active church goers, have found belonging with others who have deconstructed their faith. In particular, we have connected with many parents with children now identifying with the LGBTQ+ community, whether as active members or through shared values and beliefs.

We understand the heartache experienced not only by these young individuals but also by their families — parents, grandparents, and siblings who often feel isolated in their support journey.

Meet Jan Mackenzie, a parent whose story resonates deeply with our mission. Her child, originally born female, came out as gay as a teenager and later transitioned to living as a man. Jan and her husband, Marty, faced numerous challenges finding guidance and support in their efforts to continue loving and journeying alongside their adult child.

In 2024, Jan discovered renewed hope after reading "Not Beyond Reach" by Aaron Pierce, CEO of Steiger. This hope extended beyond her personal journey as she was excited to hear of a mission where young, passionate believers actively engage with LGBTQ+ individuals and others who would never walk into a church, fostering authentic relationships that lead to sharing the message of Jesus.
