Globalized Middle Eastern Youth
A people constantly online and active on social media platforms, well versed in modern technology and highly engaged in global trends in music and art: The young generation of the Middle East has not just become a part of but also a vital contributor to global youth culture. This is the reason why we have come to call this generation the ‘Globalized Middle Eastern Youth.' In spite of the political and social turmoil that has been challenging the region, these young people are energetic, highly innovative and creative. At the same time, they have become increasingly suspicious of traditional cultural and religious values as they aspire for change and a new way of living.
Beirut: A Different Mecca
Beirut, the Lebanese capital, located at the Mediterranean epitomizes this generation’s dreams and longings more than any other place in the Middle East. Home to a thriving arts and music scene as well as a vibrant entertainment industry, this city has become something of a ‘Mecca’ for millions of young Arabs who are eager to dip into popular global trends in their search for a new identity.
Steiger Middle East
Recognizing the strategic importance of Beirut for our vision to engage Middle Eastern youth with the gospel, Steiger has started to build a local presence in the city. The ministry of Steiger Middle East so far includes:
- Production of RAWA - an evangelistic short movie series - in partnership with the Lebanese studio ONE:SIXTEEN.
