Reaching Secularized Global Youth (Lausanne Initiative)
Aaron Pierce and Ben Pierce

"The Church is irrelevant to my day-to-day life! It's just a dead, empty tradition of the past." This is the overwhelming consensus among young people today, and it has resulted in an ever-widening cultural divide between the secular youth culture and the Church. Much of what was formerly regarded as the Christian world is leaving its roots behind and is dominated by secularism and relativism. The Bible is no longer considered the moral compass, but rather everyone is free to decide for themselves what is right and wrong. As followers of Jesus, it's clear that we need to respond to this - but how?

Aaron Pierce is the Executive Director of Steiger International. Aaron oversees the strategic direction, participates in evangelistic tours around the world, teaches at training events, develops new ministry partnerships, and more. He is also one of the advocates for the Lausanne Global Secularization Initiative. He grew up in Amsterdam and currently lives in Minnesota (US) with his wife and four children.

Ben Pierce is a member of the Steiger International leadership team and Director of Come&Live!. He also serves as the lead singer and guitarist for No Longer Music. Ben hosts a weekly podcast called Provoke & Inspire and is the author of the book, Jesus in the Secular World: Reaching a Culture in Crisis. He is a contributor to the Lausanne Global Secularization Initiative.

Bringing Kingdom, not ‘Professional’ Christianity
Dave Plowman (Luis Palau Association)

As Christians, leaders, missionaries and evangelists, it is so easy for us to slip into the mode of professional Christianity. We can run events, have strategies, plans and methods and just because we have seen and done it before, we think we know what works. But are we seeking God’s face, doing the King’s assignment and moving as agents of His Kingdom in every situation?

Dave Plowman is the UK/Europe Director of the Luis Palau Association and has a heart for radical transformation of people and places through the Good News of Jesus. He is married to Rachel and has a son, Elijah. Dave has been involved in Christian ministry across the UK for twenty years and is driven by Kingdom-thinking and genuine relationships that set the world on fire.

Events with Impact
Evi Rodemann

Thousands of Euros are spent every year on events and conferences organized by churches and para-church organizations. We all are convinced that our organized events are necessary and helpful, but we often fail to analyze the results to see if our goals and objectives have been met in both the long and short term. This workshop can help you find answers to the following questions:
  • What do I need to run an event with an impact on the future?
  • What tools can I use to measure the impact of my event?
  • What steps can I take before running an event that will help me evaluate it afterward?
To ensure my event’s long-lasting impact, what objectives should I set and what post-event resources could I make available to enhance learning?

Evi Rodemann has been involved in creating and organizing events for young people and churches locally, nationally, and on the European level since she was a teenager. As well as receiving training in event management, Evi also earned an MA in European Mission with a focus on the impact of conferences. She studied missions in the Netherlands and has worked in India, Africa, and Hong Kong, but her strongest passion remains Europe and helping its young people to find their kingdom role and live missionally wherever God has called them. Until 2016 she directed Mission-Net for nine years and organized four European youth mission congresses. In addition to being engaged in various European networks such as Lausanne and the European Youth Ministry Network, Evi also works part-time in a German aluminum company.

Ben Jack is the head of Advance: The Evangelists Movement, based at The Message Trust in Manchester. Reaching the Secular Scene in Berlin
Benjamin Zwick

We live in a time when we must increasingly ask ourselves the question of how to bring Christ to people in a relevant and life-changing way. The Global Youth Culture lives in a multi-option society. Many people have lost their orientation in life, seeking meaning in love, sex and career. This workshop will teach you how to lead this Youth Culture to set right the distorted image they have of God and how to win them for the Gospel.

Ever since he was a teenager, Benjamin Zwick carries the passion in heart to bring the Gospel contextually and culturally sensitive to church-removed people. Over the past 15 years, he has helped to initiate many evangelistic projects in Germany and has been leading evangelistic youth work in subcultures in Berlin for over 10 years.

Sharing Your Testimony in 10 Minutes
Maria H. Cruz

Many Christians believe they don't have a good testimony to tell because they didn’t have a supernatural encounter with Jesus or a radical conversion. But the truth is that your testimony is the Word of God in the Bible becoming alive in your life. In this workshop, we will learn and practice how to share and use our testimonies in a relevant way to bring Jesus to all those who are still living without hope.

María de Heredía Cruz is a Spanish girl from Madrid. She met Jesus through a supernatural experience eleven years ago in Amsterdam. She has been partnering with Steiger since 2012 and was a student at Steiger Mission School in 2014. Since then, she has been using her talent in singing and dancing to bring Jesus into those scenes in Madrid.
