HISTORY

NEWSLETTER

March 2007

Dear Friends,

This was my first experience in Frunze, the capital city of what was then called Kirghizia.  That was in 1990, when it was still controlled by the former Soviet Union.  After the fall of the Soviet Union, it became an independent country—Kyrgyzstan.  It is a remote, mountainous country nestled between China and Kazakhstan.  It was settled by Chinese Muslim refugees—a people who deserve to hear about Jesus.  When I was there in 1990 my heart ached because I could literally feel God's broken heart for them.

It's not right that so many in the Muslim world never have the opportunity to hear that Jesus loves them.  I have felt that God wants us to be willing to tell them.  Since I have been praying this way, doors have opened up for us all over the Muslim world, including Kyrgyzstan.

So plans are now under way for us to return there with NO LONGER MUSIC in August.  I am anticipating that God will move powerfully, and I believe it could have a huge impact on the country.  I expect our evangelistic concerts will be widely covered in the media; it’s an opportunity to present Jesus and the message of the cross to the whole country.  Please pray for us as we prepare for this tour. Pray that God protects the missionaries in Kyrgyzstan as they set up the evangelistic concerts, and that thousands hear the Gospel.

Plans are also underway for evangelistic concerts in Turkey, (possibly Lebanon) and Croatia during August. The tour will end on August 24th in Berlin, Germany, where we will be doing a big, outdoor evangelistic concert on the Alexander Platz in East Berlin.  (I will talk more about this in my next newsletter.)

Thank you for your prayers and support!

We need sponsors. Countries are often unreached because they are expensive and hard to get to. The evangelistic tour in August will cost approximately 30,000 US dollars.  We will be working with local missionaries and church plants who will care for those who respond to Christ during the tour.  Please consider investing in and supporting this effort to bring the Gospel to these Muslim countries. We believe the tour will open doors for future ministry in these areas.  Most of all, please pray that God gives us boldness to preach the gospel and that many find Jesus!

In the next newsletter I will introduce you to Phil Shorey, a Steiger Missionary who is reaching people for Jesus using street theater in some very hostile environments.

For the lost,

Prayer Needs

Pray for the Radical Discipleship Conference on the Kapiti Coast in New Zealand.  It starts the morning of the April 22nd and finishes on the 26th.  If you hurry you still can register!  Jodi and I will be teaching on how to trust God for the extraordinary life He calls you to, and how to bring Jesus into secular places.

Pray for sponsors for the NO LONGER MUSIC evangelistic tour in August.

Pray for our teams scattered around the world—that they can boldly preach the Gospel, and for God's power to go before them.
