DAVID & JODI PIERCE

HISTORY

NEWSLETTER

July 2007

Dear Friends,

After the concert I said, "Don't listen to the lie that you can't change, and that you have to be weak. God is not calling us to be weak. He wants us to be strong! Doesn't Jesus heal the cripples and raise the dead?" I said, "If you need to be free, Jesus is here and He offers freedom tonight. All you have to do is kill your pride and humble yourself before Him."

About 20 people, many weeping, knelt on the grass at the Underground Stage at Cornerstone and prayed aloud, surrendering their lives to Jesus. After that, the band prayed with everyone individually along with a team who was there to help us. Many were deeply touched by God that night.

That morning I had spoken on the same stage and about 100 people came forward for prayer, seeking to make things right with God. Two others gave their lives to Jesus for the first time. I also gave seminars every morning and challenged those who came not to hide their faith, but to be bold witnesses for Jesus. Many responded and wanted to talk with Jodi and me about how they could work with Steiger.

Michael Sengle (the leader of Steiger in Germany) was also there running an information booth about Steiger. He spent long days talking with those who were interested in this ministry. Jodi and I also met with some key leaders in the States who want to be involved with the Evangelistic Artists Association that we want to begin next year. The purpose of this association is to raise up evangelistic artists who would impact the trend setters in the fields of art and media with the message of the cross.

As I write this we are making final preparations for our evangelistic tour. Jodi and I leave for Germany on July 19, where we are meeting with the Steiger International Eldership Board before departing for Istanbul, Turkey and then on to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to begin the tour.

In Kyrgyzstan we have evangelistic concerts from August 1-6 in Tokmak, Bishkek and Karabanta. Kyrgyzstan is a very poor Muslim country located between Kazakhstan and China. Christians there are persecuted, especially in the south. Pray that God uses us to give fresh vision and encouragement to the Christians there and that many come to Jesus.

Then we will back in Turkey from August 7-15. This is our second tour in Turkey. We will be going to the south central region of Turkey near the Syrian border (the Hatay, Adana and Icel provinces), which unlike the westernized city of Istanbul, is far less open to Christianity. Pray for wisdom, boldness and protection for our team.

After that, we travel to Iceland from August 17-21. Iceland is a very secular country and one of the most unreached countries in the world. The organizer, Radek Dudziak, says that there seems to be a spiritual oppression in that country and that demonic encounters are common.

Lastly, we are doing a big outdoor concert in Mauer Park in Berlin, Germany on August 24th. We will be working with Teen Challenge and Steiger Germany. Many Germans are very cynical and opposed to Christianity, because they see it as nothing more than an empty and judgmental tradition. Please pray for good weather and that thousands come and hear the truth about Jesus!

As we prepare to go, we are so grateful to all of you for your faithful support and prayers. Thank you!!! We know we are going into battle but we also know that God is sending us. So we expect to see Him move in power.

Pray for protection over our team and my family. Pray that we can boldly proclaim the gospel. We will try and send updates when we can.

For the lost,

David & Jodi Pierce

PS I just received this today from David Wilson our promoter in Turkey: "I am wondering if it is possible for you to be part of a festival on 15 August in the Hatay province of Turkey (near Syrian border). They are very interested BUT I am sending them the DVD and will need to wait, so I just wanted to initially give you the heads up and see if it was even possible." Pray that if it's God's will that we play at this festival, we can make it work with all our flight connections.
